Sometimes you need the answer to a question at the most inconvenient times- like the middle of the night or on the weekend! That’s why Clay County Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless is excited to announce the launch of TextMyGov, a new messaging service to enhance communication between voters and the Elections Office.
TextMyGov allows the public to send text messages 24/7 directly to the Elections Office using keywords that will trigger a response to answer the question or concern.
To ask a question or report an issue:
• To find information and report issues, users can text HI to 904-297-2122.
• Users are then prompted to enter a keyword such as Vote by Mail, precinct, Early Voting, etc.
• The system gives an answer or provides a link to the Election Office’s website containing relevant information.
TextMyGov also allows voters to sign up for election-related notifications directly from our office. The notifications will be for important dates like Voter Registration deadlines or Election Day, or when Sample Ballots are available or Early Voting begins. All voters are encouraged to opt-in for these important reminders.
To sign up to receive text notifications:
• Opt-in by texting CLAYVOTES to 91896.
• After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to confirm your choice. Clay County Elections Office Launches TextMyGov
• You can opt-out at anytime by texting STOP to 91896.
This new communication tool will help enhance our community engagement and adds a simple, convenient way for voters to contact our office.
