Yes! Election Workers are paid for attending all required training and working on Election Day. Pay ranges from $215 to $270, depending on the position assigned. Alternate/Stand-by workers receive $50 if they are not called in to work on Election Day.
Election Workers are scheduled on an as-needed basis for each election and are not guaranteed to work every election. On Election Day, workers report to their assigned polling place by 6:00 AM and typically work until approximately 8:00 PM, after the polls close and all closing procedures are complete—a workday of about 14 hours.
If you’re assigned to work somewhere other than your home precinct, we encourage you to vote before Election Day using Early Voting or Vote-by-Mail. This ensures you can cast your ballot without conflicting with your Election Day responsibilities.
Not always. Election Workers are assigned where they are needed throughout Clay County. While preferences may be considered when possible, assignments are based on the needs of each election.
All Election Workers are required to complete training before each election. Training prepares you to confidently assist voters, operate election equipment, understand Florida election laws and procedures, and provide excellent customer service on Election Day.
Our Election Workers play a vital role in ensuring safe, secure, and efficient elections.
